Make the most of it…

Asalamualaykum

There’s not much time left till the new calendar month… If you haven’t fasted the 6 shawaal fasts, then take advantage of the last few days left to do so.

image

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever fasts the month of Ramadhan, then follows it by fasting six days of Shawwal will be rewarded as if he’s fasted the entire year.”
[Reported by Ahmad 5/417]

Do not let this opportunity slip, take advantage and we ask Allah to make us all successful. Ameen.

Tonight..

🌟🌟 ONE MINUTE TASKS 🌟🌟

📍 In one minute you can send blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) 50 times by saying Sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam (May Allaah bless him and grant him peace).or Allaahumma Salli wa Sallim A’la Nabi’.
▶ In return Allaah will send blessings upon you 500 hundred times because one blessing brings ten like it.

📍 In one minute you can seek the forgiveness of Allaah more than 100 times by saying “Astaghfir-Allaah (I seek the forgiveness of Allaah).
▶The virtue of seeking forgiveness is the means of attaining forgiveness and entering Paradise, and it is the means of being granted a good life, increasing one’s strength, warding off disasters, making things easier, bringing rain and increasing one’s wealth and children.

📍 in one minute you can say Subhaan Allaah wa bi hamdih, ‘adada khalqihi, wa ridaa nafsihi, wazinata ‘arshihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah, as much as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as much as the weight of His Throne and as much as the ink of His words) more than 15 times. This words bring many more times the reward for other forms of tasbeeh and dhikr, as was reported in saheeh ahaadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

📍 In one minute you can say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah approximately 50 times. This is the greatest word, for it is the word of Tawheed, the good word, the word that stands firm.

📍 In one minute you can say, Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah (there is no strength and no power except times. This is one of the treasures of Paradise, as was narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim. They are a means of putting up with difficulties and of aiming to achieve great things.

🔰 More Duas for the rest of the night

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge which does not benefit, from a heart that does not entertain the fear (of Allah), from a soul that is not satisfied and the supplication that is not answered.”

📍The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to say at the end of every prayer:

“Allaahumma inni a‘oodhu bika min al-bukhl, wa a‘oodhu bika min al-jubn, wa a‘oodhu bika min an uradda ila ardhal il-‘umr, wa a‘oodhu bika min fitnat ad-dunya wa min ‘adhaab al-qabr

📍 O Ever Living One, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all,
by Your Mercy I call on You to set right all my affairs.

‘aslihlee sha’nee kullahu wa laa takilnee ‘ilaa nafsee tarfata ‘aynin
📍 A parents duaa for the child works a long way into the child’s life. It becomes his/her strength and structure for their life.. Even if you are not around..Your duaa will protect your child and provide support for them in times of hardship..

▶ Pray that Allah swt showers upon them peace and tranquility as long as they live

▶ Pray that Allah swt makes them among those children who pray for their parents

▶Pray that Allah swt makes them aalim e deen, hafidh al Quran, and shaheed in his path..

▶Pray that Allah Swt bless them with good manners and hikma..

▶Pray to Allah swt to help them to find ease in their transition in life stages as a fetus to birth to a young child to teenager to adult to old age to life in the grave to their time in the hashr till their entry into jannah..

▶Pray to Allah swt to provide them with righteous friends..

▶The world today is spiralling downwards towards evil very very fast … there’s trials and tribulations in every step of the way… to keep our head above the water is very difficult… pray to Allah to help our children rise above the evil.. to fight against the tide and come out as righteous striving muslims.

〰Our children can be our way to Jannah or Jahannam…. the way we raise them depends upon it..

The Ultimate Ramadan Dua’ List

image

I looked at the greatest needs we have in this day and age and selected 7 dua’s from the Quran and Sunnah that I feel would be in the best interests of every Muslim. It would be ideal to print this list (or have it on your phone) and keep it handy at the time of iftar. Likewise, please add to your list anything else that you would like, especially that which your heart desires. For your convenience I have included the Arabic, English transliteration, and English translation. I pray Allah accepts from us all, and makes us from those who are forgiven and pardoned this Ramadan and entered into alfirdaws in the hereafter. AMeen – – Shaykh Navaid Aziz

Powerful Tips for the Last 10 Nights

1. Do not let your ‘performance’ until now affect your last 10 days. The moment of forgiveness could be today or anytime in the coming days! It is not all lost! If you sincerely wish it could have been better – Chin up and get ready to make it your best yet! Start with a positive, sincere intention!

💎
2. Today, take a little time to read the Tafseer of Surah al-Qadr to understand what actually happens this night! You will feel its power & greatness so much more!

💎
3. Do not wait for the 27th Night to give it your “all”. The entire last 10 days should be your target. Stay up each night! Would you want to miss Laylatul Qadr even “by chance”?

💎
4. Do not fall into any innovations/celebrations any masjid or culture might try to promote. Follow the Sunnah! The Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) guided us simply: “Whoever stays up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”

💎
5. Memorize and keep asking the dua’ taught by Rasulullah (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam): Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’affu ‘anni (O Allaah, You are forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me).

💎
6. Prepare a short dua’ list. Remember this is as awesome as it ever gets for a servant of Allah! The Night of Qadr, of Destiny! Consciously pick each and everything you crucially wish for in this dunya, in your deen, family, and in your aakhirah! Don’t forget to include the brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering and in grief!

💎

7. Take brief naps during the day, if possible. Keep your stomach light and sleep as soon as you have prayed ‘isha. Do not delay! After a brief nap, refresh yourself and get. ready for worship.

💎
8. Don’t neglect your family! Rasulullah made it a point to wake up his wives throughout these nights! And yes, your children are not too young to stay up some part of the night – if they can be allowed to play video games or watch TV, they can be inspired to be up atleast for sometime! Prepare them, make them excited, plan some activities for them to do!

💎
9. Look the Part: The way we dress and prepare.has a big effect on our psychology. Wear your best, perfume yourself, and feel the energy!
10. Choose a spot, whether in the Masjid or in your home, where you can have peace and solitude. Keep your mushaf, praying mat, and water at hand so that you are not distracted by constantly getting up for this or that.

💎
11. Important: This is not the night to tweet pics or update FB statuses about how amazing the night is and how you are feeling & worshipping Allah! Let that be a secret between you & your Rabb! So switch off those phones, wifi, laptops and computers. Disconnect with the world, and connect with al-‘Afuww!

💎

12. If you find yourself feeling sleepy, vary your acts of worship. Alternate between qiyaam, heartfelt dua’a, reading the Qur’an. Do not spend the night listening to lectures or recitations. Or do it only for a short while when you feel the sleep coming on!

💎
13. Patience is the Key: The last 10 days might be tiring. You might still have work or school. This is the time to bear all that hardship, and keep firm sabr. Think how Allah has blessed you with this tremendous opportunity that might NEVER come again in your life again. If you knew for sure that this was your last Ramadan , if you knew certainly that Jannah was up for grabs, wouldn’t you sprint for it no matter what it takes?

💎
14. This is most important: Keep husn adh-dhann bi Allah (good expectations from Allah). When you ask, remember you are asking the Most Generous King. If you hope for the best, He will give you the best. Don’t hold back. Trust in Him, pour out your heart in front of Him, and let no doubt, no barrier, no evil thoughts keep you away from ar-Rahman, ar-Raheem!
Allahumma ballighna laylatal qadr..  Ameen 🙏

Don’t waste time in these last few nights… Keep your tongue busy your akhira depends on it!
What’s the difference between Maghfirah (مغفرة ) and ‘Afuw (عفو )?
Maghfirah: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin but the sin will still be registered on your book of deeds. Maghfirah is Allah’s forgiveness for your sin but on the Judgment Day it will be written on your record, Allah will ask you about it but HE won’t punish you because of it

*’Afuw*: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin and delete it from your book of deeds as if it did not happen. ‘Afuw is Allah’s pardon for your sin, it will be completely erased from your record and Allah won’t ask you about it on Judgement day

This is why our Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that, this is the best Duaa to make on Laylatul Qadr

“Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘annee”

(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi)

O Allah, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and You love to pardon, so pardon me.)”

So make sure you read this dua all the time and as much as you can. Make it one of your daily athkaar.
Imagine that you are standing on the day of Judgment being held accountable for your deeds, and you’re not guaranteed your entry to Jannah

May Allah grant us etry into Firdaws with no kitaab and no hisaab Ameen 💗

You know what the hardest part about Ramadan is?

It’s not the long hours of fasting, or attempts of memorising the Quran, the standing in Taraweeh prayer or even staying up for Qiyam.

The hardest part is realising we are our biggest enemy. Acknowledging that our nafs are stronger than we think. Even though Shaytaan is locked up, he has managed to leave pockets of influence all over us. It’s a very tough and bitter pill to swallow, to know that when we slip in temper, our impatience, laziness in Ibadah, is not because of waswasah (doubts), but rather it’s our own self and the evil that had built with us.

We ask Allah to grant us clarity of thought, a cleansed heart and a mind that is aware of Him. Ameen

Don’t fill your vessel!

Asalamualaykum,

With Ramadan being a special month most of us forget that it’s a month of fasting and not feasting. Look into your intentions and review your goals and ask yourself what is it that you would like to achieve from this blessed month.

Eating Less – The Solution To Many Problems

Abu Juhayfah said:

“A man burped in the presence of the Messenger of Allaah (pbuh) and he said: “Keep your burps away from us, for the one who eats his fill the most in this world will be hungry for the longest time on the Day of Resurrection.” (al-Tabaraani–Saheeh)

After hearing that Abu Juhayfah RA did not eat his fill until he departed from this world; if he ate breakfast he would not eat dinner and if he ate dinner he would not eat breakfast, and he said: “I have not filled my stomach for thirty years.”

Yet, we force our kids to eat, to finish their plate or just simply stuff themselves until they are full. And we do the same ourselves. What we don’t realize is that, not only is this bad for health, and against the wise teachings of our beloved Prophet (pbuh), but it is this excessive eating that is keeping us away from the sincere and focused worship of Allaah that we are searching for…..that Khushoo’….that Sakeena, the peace that should be there in all our Ibadaat.

This is because eating one’s fill makes the body heavy, which leads to yawning and laziness in worship and work.

The Prophet (pbuh) said,

“A believer eats in one intestine, and a kafir (unbeliever) or a hypocrite eats in seven intestines.” (Bukhaari)

That means; a believer is satisfied with a little food, while an unbeliever or a hypocrite eats too much to satisfy himself.

The Prophet (pbuh) also said:

“The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach. It is sufficient for the son of Adam to eat a few morsels to keep him alive. If he must fill it, then one-third for his food, one-third for his drink, and one-third for air.” (al-Tirmidhi –saheeh by al-Albaani)

Eating too much also makes the heart hard and heedless of Allaah. And that is why the Prophet (pbuh) and his companions used to go hungry quite frequently, even in the presence of abundant food.

Some people argue that as long as what they are eating is Halaal, they can eat whatever they want, whenever they want and in whatever quantity they want.
But Allaah condemns everyone who is extravagant, even in things that are permissible.

Umar (RA) said: By Allaah, if I wanted I could wear the finest clothes among you, and eat the best food, and have the most luxurious life. But I heard that Allaah will condemn people for some of their actions and said:

“You received your good things in the life of the world, and you took your pleasure therein. Now this Day you shall be recompensed with a torment of humiliation, because you were arrogant in the land without a right, and because you used to rebel against Allaah’s Command (disobey Allaah)” [al-Ahqaaf 46:20]

Ibrahim ibn Adham said: “Any one who controls his stomach is in control of his deen, and anyone who controls his hunger is in control of good behavior.. Disobedience towards Allah is nearest to a person who is satiated with a full stomach, and furthest away from a person who is hungry.”

The Ulama enumerate multiple benefits of eating in moderation. Eating less keeps the body healthy and light, keeps the heart soft, increases memory, weakens desires, and disciplines the soul while excessive eating brings about the opposite of these praiseworthy qualities..

The best and most perfect diet is to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh). For, indeed, it is only his way that is the best and his guidance that is perfect.

Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) said:
“We are a people who do not eat until we are hungry. And if we eat, we do not eat to our fill.”

May Allaah protect us from over eating and grant us wisdom and piety. Ameen
