Powerful prayer…

ASalamu’alaykum,

Today we have a beautiful story that illustrates the power of Duah. Never belittle the power of Duah…

A poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store.
She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

The grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: ‘Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can.’

Store keeper told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store.
Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family. The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, ‘Do you have a grocery list?’

Lady replied, ‘Yes sir.’ ‘O.K’ he said, ‘put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries.’

Lady hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down..

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, ‘I can’t believe it.’

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:

🙏’Dear Allah, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.’🙏

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Lady thanked him and left the store. The other customer handed a hundred-dollar bill to the grocer and said; ‘It was worth every penny of it. Only Allah Knows how much a prayer weighs.’

Thank Allah for what he has given us, without knowing, appreciate everything with a sincere heart

Ease promised twice!….

Asalamu’alaykum dear readers,

There are times, days and some months and years that we all go thru in life experiencing great hardships, unease and discomfort. However, during those moments of great hardship and sadness we forget ourself whilst the problem engulfs every piece of us…but then something amazing happens to a believer. The amazing realization that Allah promises us many a thing..but the most of all He promised us during these testing times…EASE! Yes you read right…He, Allah Ta’Alla promised us ease not once but twice.

فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا (94:5

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا (94:6

Thus with this promise we break from the shackles of worry, discomfort, sadness, loss, wound, disappointment and whatever else is eating away our mind, body and soul.

For verily we read these verses more often but we never reflect on the beauty hidden between these verses.

And so I said to my soul; my sufferings became easier because my Lord promised me ease, not once but twice! 🙏💕

May Allah grant us all ease, ameen

Duah can go along way…

Asalamualaykum we pray you are all well.

Subhanallah we surely are living in times of many trials. It’s hard not to become emotional and sad about what’s going on in the Muslim world. You look to every corner where there’s muslims and in one way or another there’s oppression, suffering or massacre. It’s hard not to want to crawl into an empty hole and shut your eyes and cover your ears….all because we feel helpless and we are overcome with such despair.

img_0199

Alhamdulillah we have so many charities that are working tirelessly to try and provide basic essentials to help the needy live a little bit better than what they are currently undergoing….but the biggest help we can give is DUAH too!

We have forgotten the power of duah that we are only reminded when a situation is dire. But no, it should be done regardless. Duah is the only weapon of a believer…we should make Duah for them day and night, whenever we can.

Duah and istighfar go hand in hand…ask Allah to forgive us for our sins and pardon us. Because our sins could be a barrier for those that are suffering. Cry to your lord and ask Him to save the Ummah and grant us all the ability to wake up and see everything clearly.

Make Duah for the people stuck in East Aleppo, in mainland Syria, Africa, Burma, Pakistan

I didn’t know…

Asalamu’Alaykum

Tomorrow is a beautiful day indeed, try your utmost best to fast so that you can reap maximum benefit. Ask for your forgiveness as well as for those who have hurt you….there’s wisdom in doing so.

I’ve always wondered what sabr is.

I was never given a proper definition so my concept of it was somewhat distorted;
all I understood was that you wait until it’s over.

But now, if I were to put it into words,

this is what I’ve gathered so far:

Sabr is suppressing that angry voice in your head,

the one that wants to yell at people for being inconsiderate to your struggle.

Sabr is swallowing this voice, overcoming it &
learning to channel it towards a heartfelt du’a instead.

Sabr is forgiving someone when they dismiss your feelings.

Sabr is meeting those who deserted you, with a smile on your lips, even though your tears are one step away from exposing you.

Sabr is staying silent because you’ve already stated your point too many times before.

Sabr is conforming to someone’s demand because of their right over you.

Sabr is fulfilling the rights of others even when they transgress against yours.

Sabr is crying about your heartache in front of Allah subhanawatala and no one else.

Sabr is believing wholeheartedly that Allah subhanawatala has beautiful things in store for you.

Sabr is crawling forward even when you want to stop.

Sabr is an active state of being, it is not a theory to simply be discussed and forgotten.

And it is worth it. Every single second of it is so worth it because Allah subhanawatala loves the patient ones.

And it’s worth going through the worst of the worst if it means that it will gain you Allah subhanawatala ‘

🌟🌟 ONE MINUTE TASKS 🌟🌟

📍 In one minute you can send blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) 50 times by saying Sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam (May Allaah bless him and grant him peace).or Allaahumma Salli wa Sallim A’la Nabi’.
▶ In return Allaah will send blessings upon you 500 hundred times because one blessing brings ten like it.

📍 In one minute you can seek the forgiveness of Allaah more than 100 times by saying “Astaghfir-Allaah (I seek the forgiveness of Allaah).
▶The virtue of seeking forgiveness is the means of attaining forgiveness and entering Paradise, and it is the means of being granted a good life, increasing one’s strength, warding off disasters, making things easier, bringing rain and increasing one’s wealth and children.

📍 in one minute you can say Subhaan Allaah wa bi hamdih, ‘adada khalqihi, wa ridaa nafsihi, wazinata ‘arshihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah, as much as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as much as the weight of His Throne and as much as the ink of His words) more than 15 times. This words bring many more times the reward for other forms of tasbeeh and dhikr, as was reported in saheeh ahaadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

📍 In one minute you can say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah approximately 50 times. This is the greatest word, for it is the word of Tawheed, the good word, the word that stands firm.

📍 In one minute you can say, Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah (there is no strength and no power except times. This is one of the treasures of Paradise, as was narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim. They are a means of putting up with difficulties and of aiming to achieve great things.

🔰 More Duas for the rest of the night

📍 Allahumma inni asaluka ash shahada(for shahada)

Allāhumma innī as’aluka emānan la yartadu wa na’īman la yanfadu wa murāfaqatah Muhammadin fī a’lā Jannat al-Khuld.

O Allah, I ask you for firm faith that does not revert, and bliss that never ends, and then companionship of Muhammad at the highest (level) of eternal Paradise.

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge which does not benefit, from a heart that does not entertain the fear (of Allah), from a soul that is not satisfied and the supplication that is not answered.”

📍The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to say at the end of every prayer:

“Allaahumma inni a‘oodhu bika min al-bukhl, wa a‘oodhu bika min al-jubn, wa a‘oodhu bika min an uradda ila ardhal il-‘umr, wa a‘oodhu bika min fitnat ad-dunya wa min ‘adhaab al-qabr

(O Allah, I seek refuge in You from miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from reaching feeble old age, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of this world, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave.

📍 O Ever Living One, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all,
by Your Mercy I call on You to set right all my affairs.
Do not place me in charge of my soul even for the blinking of an eye (i.e a moment)

Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoomu birahmatika ‘astagheethu
‘aslihlee sha’nee kullahu wa laa takilnee ‘ilaa nafsee tarfata ‘aynin
📍 A parents duaa for the child works a long way into the child’s life. It becomes his/her strength and structure for their life.. Even if you are not around..Your duaa will protect your child and provide support for them in times of hardship..

▶ Make duaa unconditionally for all your children.. start making duaa for them even before their birth.

▶Make duaa to Allah swt for healthy offsprings and bless them with health and eeman throughout their lives…

▶Pray that Allah swt keeps them steadfast on sirat al mustaqeem no matter what situation comes in their life..

▶Pray that Allah swt protect them from shirk and bidah… however big or small..

▶Pray that Allah gives them happiness and to reunite us with them in jannah

▶Pray that Allah swt that they become the reason for our place in jannah..

▶Pray that they become our shields against the hell fire.

▶ Pray that Allah swt showers upon them peace and tranquility as long as they live

▶ Pray that Allah swt makes them among those children who pray for their parents

▶Pray that Allah swt makes them aalim e deen, hafidh al Quran, and shaheed in his path..

▶Pray that Allah Swt bless them with good manners and hikma..

▶Pray to Allah swt to help them to find ease in their transition in life stages as a fetus to birth to a young child to teenager to adult to old age to life in the grave to their time in the hashr till their entry into jannah..

▶Pray to Allah swt to provide them with righteous friends..

▶The world today is spiralling downwards towards evil very very fast … there’s trials and tribulations in every step of the way… to keep our head above the water is very difficult… pray to Allah to help our children rise above the evil.. to fight against the tide and come out as righteous striving muslims.

〰Our children can be our way to Jannah or Jahannam…. the way we raise them depends upon it..

The Ultimate Ramadan Dua’ List

image

I looked at the greatest needs we have in this day and age and selected 7 dua’s from the Quran and Sunnah that I feel would be in the best interests of every Muslim. It would be ideal to print this list (or have it on your phone) and keep it handy at the time of iftar. Likewise, please add to your list anything else that you would like, especially that which your heart desires. For your convenience I have included the Arabic, English transliteration, and English translation. I pray Allah accepts from us all, and makes us from those who are forgiven and pardoned this Ramadan and entered into alfirdaws in the hereafter. AMeen – – Shaykh Navaid Aziz

Powerful Tips for the Last 10 Nights

1. Do not let your ‘performance’ until now affect your last 10 days. The moment of forgiveness could be today or anytime in the coming days! It is not all lost! If you sincerely wish it could have been better – Chin up and get ready to make it your best yet! Start with a positive, sincere intention!

💎
2. Today, take a little time to read the Tafseer of Surah al-Qadr to understand what actually happens this night! You will feel its power & greatness so much more!

💎
3. Do not wait for the 27th Night to give it your “all”. The entire last 10 days should be your target. Stay up each night! Would you want to miss Laylatul Qadr even “by chance”?

💎
4. Do not fall into any innovations/celebrations any masjid or culture might try to promote. Follow the Sunnah! The Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) guided us simply: “Whoever stays up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”

💎
5. Memorize and keep asking the dua’ taught by Rasulullah (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam): Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’affu ‘anni (O Allaah, You are forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me).

💎
6. Prepare a short dua’ list. Remember this is as awesome as it ever gets for a servant of Allah! The Night of Qadr, of Destiny! Consciously pick each and everything you crucially wish for in this dunya, in your deen, family, and in your aakhirah! Don’t forget to include the brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering and in grief!

💎

7. Take brief naps during the day, if possible. Keep your stomach light and sleep as soon as you have prayed ‘isha. Do not delay! After a brief nap, refresh yourself and get. ready for worship.

💎
8. Don’t neglect your family! Rasulullah made it a point to wake up his wives throughout these nights! And yes, your children are not too young to stay up some part of the night – if they can be allowed to play video games or watch TV, they can be inspired to be up atleast for sometime! Prepare them, make them excited, plan some activities for them to do!

💎
9. Look the Part: The way we dress and prepare.has a big effect on our psychology. Wear your best, perfume yourself, and feel the energy!
10. Choose a spot, whether in the Masjid or in your home, where you can have peace and solitude. Keep your mushaf, praying mat, and water at hand so that you are not distracted by constantly getting up for this or that.

💎
11. Important: This is not the night to tweet pics or update FB statuses about how amazing the night is and how you are feeling & worshipping Allah! Let that be a secret between you & your Rabb! So switch off those phones, wifi, laptops and computers. Disconnect with the world, and connect with al-‘Afuww!

💎

12. If you find yourself feeling sleepy, vary your acts of worship. Alternate between qiyaam, heartfelt dua’a, reading the Qur’an. Do not spend the night listening to lectures or recitations. Or do it only for a short while when you feel the sleep coming on!

💎
13. Patience is the Key: The last 10 days might be tiring. You might still have work or school. This is the time to bear all that hardship, and keep firm sabr. Think how Allah has blessed you with this tremendous opportunity that might NEVER come again in your life again. If you knew for sure that this was your last Ramadan , if you knew certainly that Jannah was up for grabs, wouldn’t you sprint for it no matter what it takes?

💎
14. This is most important: Keep husn adh-dhann bi Allah (good expectations from Allah). When you ask, remember you are asking the Most Generous King. If you hope for the best, He will give you the best. Don’t hold back. Trust in Him, pour out your heart in front of Him, and let no doubt, no barrier, no evil thoughts keep you away from ar-Rahman, ar-Raheem!
Allahumma ballighna laylatal qadr..  Ameen 🙏

No messing about!

Don’t waste time in these last few nights… Keep your tongue busy your akhira depends on it!
What’s the difference between Maghfirah (مغفرة ) and ‘Afuw (عفو )?
Maghfirah: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin but the sin will still be registered on your book of deeds. Maghfirah is Allah’s forgiveness for your sin but on the Judgment Day it will be written on your record, Allah will ask you about it but HE won’t punish you because of it

*’Afuw*: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin and delete it from your book of deeds as if it did not happen. ‘Afuw is Allah’s pardon for your sin, it will be completely erased from your record and Allah won’t ask you about it on Judgement day

This is why our Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that, this is the best Duaa to make on Laylatul Qadr

“Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘annee”

(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi)

O Allah, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and You love to pardon, so pardon me.)”

So make sure you read this dua all the time and as much as you can. Make it one of your daily athkaar.
Imagine that you are standing on the day of Judgment being held accountable for your deeds, and you’re not guaranteed your entry to Jannah

May Allah grant us etry into Firdaws with no kitaab and no hisaab Ameen 💗

Bedouins duah

Asalamu’alaykum

image

A lot of times, we get hesitate to make du’a because we’re not sure exactly what to say.

We ask around for a du’a in Arabic that we can memorize and recite, thinking that the Arabic wording is the key to the du’as acceptance.

The thing is, it’s not about the Arabic.

Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala understands every language and understands you even when you don’t say a thing.

It’s all about turning your heart to Him with sincerity and conviction.

It reminds me of a story of a rich man, a poor man and a bedouin…

A rich man was going to Hajj. He had prepared for the journey and was ready to go when a poor man asked him if he could go with him and serve him.

The rich man agreed and they started traveling. On the way, the two stopped at a Bedouin’s tent.

The Bedouin was a generous host, serving his guests and making them comfortable. The two travelers stayed overnight at the Bedouin’s tent.

In the morning, the rich man awoke to find that the poor man had passed away in the evening. He asked the Bedouin to help him wash and bury the poor man.

Before they buried the poor man, the rich man asked the Bedouin to lead him in the funeral prayer. The Bedouin declined, saying that he didn’t know how to make du’a for the poor man.

So the rich man led the prayer. They buried the poor man and then the rich man continued on his way.

After he had left the Bedouin’s tent, the rich man had a dream in which he was told that Allah had forgiven the poor man’s sins because of the du’a of the Bedouin.

The rich man was so curious that he went back to the Bedouin’s tent to ask him what his du’a was.

The Bedouin insisted that he didn’t say anything special. The rich man described his dream to the Bedouin and asked him again to tell him the du’a.

The Bedouin told him he just said, “Oh Allah, this man was my guest and I was generous to him. Now he is Your guest, so please be generous to him.”

It wasn’t an extravagant du’a but it was the sincerity of the du’a that made it accepted.

With best wishes to see you succeed at the highest level.
